Our Programmes
Three programmes,
one unhurried approach.
Each programme is built around your own household documents. The depth of the engagement is yours to choose.
Back to HomeOur Methodology
How each programme is structured
Reading, not advising
The facilitator reads your documents with you — not for you, and not in order to steer you toward any decision. The reading itself is the work.
Pauses between sessions
Multi-session programmes include planned intervals — time to sit with what you've read before the next session begins. Reflection is part of the method.
A written record at the close
Every programme ends with something written — brief, yours, and designed to be returned to once a year rather than read daily.
Programme I
One-Month Cash-Flow Reading
A single session for one complete month of household transactions.
You bring one complete month of recent household transactions — bank statements, receipts, or a prepared list. Over approximately two hours, the facilitator reads that month alongside you — not to judge it, but to notice its shape, its regularities, and its irregularities. At the end of the session, you leave with a hand-drawn one-page summary of the month read and one or two quiet questions to sit with in the following weeks. The programme is delivered one-to-one.
- Delivered one-to-one, in person
- Approximately two hours in duration
- Hand-drawn one-page session summary included
- One or two considered questions to carry forward
- No product recommendations or referrals
Session steps
You lay out one complete month of transactions in any format you have — statements, notes, or a list.
Facilitator and participant read through the month together, noting regularities, irregularities, and anything that merits a closer look.
The facilitator draws a one-page summary of the month's shape — handed to you before you leave.
You carry two questions home. The facilitator keeps no copy of your documents.
Programme II
Household Insurance Reading Programme
Four sessions for adults who already hold household policies.
A four-session programme for adults who hold household insurance policies — life, medical, critical illness, investment-linked, motor, home — and would like to read their policy documents with greater confidence before the next renewal. Sessions walk through the common structure of Malaysian insurance policies, how benefit schedules are read, how waiting periods and exclusions are typically framed, and how to review a policy summary annually. The programme is educational; specific product choices remain entirely with the client.
- Four sessions, held at intervals
- Covers life, medical, CI, motor, home and ILP policies
- Grounded in Malaysian policy structure and BNM context
- Annual review practice taught in final session
- No product recommendations — purely educational
Programme structure
Introduction to Malaysian insurance policy structure — how policies are organised, what sections to read first.
Reading benefit schedules — understanding sum assured, deductibles, co-payment, and how limits interact.
Exclusions, waiting periods, and definitions — the clauses most policyholders overlook until a claim is made.
Annual review practice — building the habit of reading your policy once a year before renewal.
Programme III
Household Picture Engagement
A four-month engagement producing one written household picture.
A four-month engagement that produces a single short written picture of the household's financial life at the present moment and its considered direction for the coming five years. Meetings include a detailed listening session, working sessions on cash flow, savings, investments, insurance, obligations and medium-term goals, and a closing reading session. The deliverable is deliberately brief — the same kind of brevity as the reading of a sundial — and the household is expected to return to it once a year rather than daily.
- Four-month engagement, multiple working sessions
- Covers cash flow, savings, investments, insurance, obligations
- Written household financial picture as deliverable
- Five-year considered direction included
- Annual return session invitation after completion
Engagement phases
Listening session. The facilitator listens to the household's financial life in broad terms — what documents exist, what the household's main questions are, and what the five-year picture feels like from the inside.
Working sessions (months 1–3). Cash flow, savings rate, investment holdings, insurance coverage, and outstanding obligations are read in sequence — each in its own session, each producing a short written note.
Closing reading session (month 4). The facilitator presents the written household picture to the household. It is read together and any corrections or additions are noted before the final document is issued.
Annual return. Clients are invited to return once a year for a short comparison session — current picture against the written picture produced at completion.
Decision Guide
Which programme suits your household?

Across All Programmes
Shared standards and protocols
Confidentiality Agreement
A written agreement is signed before any programme begins. Your financial documents are not retained beyond the scope of the engagement.
Programme Scope in Writing
Each programme is confirmed by a written agreement stating session count, fee, and what the deliverable will be — signed before payment.
No Product Recommendations
No session at Sundial House concludes with a product proposal, a referral for fee, or an instruction to purchase any financial instrument.
Malaysian-Grounded Content
All reading frameworks are built around Malaysian financial products, regulatory language, and household norms — not imported models adapted loosely.
One Facilitator Throughout
The same facilitator works with you from the first session to the last. Continuity of reader is part of what makes the reading useful.
Two-Working-Day Response
The facilitator responds to all enquiries within two working days with a short introductory conversation before any programme is confirmed.
