Financial Education · Petaling Jaya
Your household finances,
read with care.
Sundial House offers one-to-one financial education sessions for Malaysian households — not to advise, but to help you read your own picture at your own pace.
Our Programmes
Three ways to read your financial life
Each programme is a quiet, unhurried reading. You bring the documents; we work through them together.
— i —
One-Month Cash-Flow Reading
A single session for one complete month of transactions.
You bring one month of household transactions. Over roughly two hours, the facilitator reads that month with you — not to judge it, but to trace its shape. You leave with a hand-drawn one-page summary and one or two quiet questions to sit with.
- Delivered one-to-one
- Approx. two hours
- Hand-drawn session summary included
— ii —
Household Insurance Reading Programme
Four sessions for adults who hold household policies.
Designed for those who already hold policies — life, medical, critical illness, investment-linked, motor, home — and wish to read them with greater confidence before renewal. Sessions cover Malaysian policy structure, benefit schedules, waiting periods, exclusions, and annual review practice.
- Four sessions
- All common Malaysian policy types covered
- Educational — no product recommendations
— iii —
Household Picture Engagement
A four-month engagement producing one written picture.
A careful four-month conversation covering cash flow, savings, investments, insurance, obligations, and medium-term goals. The deliverable is a single brief written picture of your household's financial life — deliberately concise, meant to be returned to once a year.
- Four months, multiple sessions
- Written household financial picture
- Five-year considered direction included
Why Sundial House
What sets our approach apart
Reading, Not Prescribing
Sessions are structured around reading your existing documents together. The facilitator does not recommend products or portfolios — the reading is yours.
One-to-One Engagement
Each session is held privately, shaped to the household's own documents and questions. No group courses, no generic modules.
Your Own Pace
Financial reading takes time. Programmes are structured with pauses built in — time to sit with what you've noticed before the next session.
No Sales Pressure
Sundial House is purely educational. The sessions end with greater clarity for you — not with a product proposal on the table.
Malaysian Context
Content is grounded in Malaysian household finances — EPF, local insurance policy structures, ringgit cash-flow patterns, and the everyday decisions households here actually face.
A Written Record
Each programme concludes with something written — a session summary or a household picture — that you keep and return to, not a stack of slides you won't re-open.
Take the first step
Curious what your financial picture looks like?
Send a brief note about which programme interests you and what you'd like to read. There is no obligation — the conversation starts when you're ready.
Common Questions
Questions about our programmes
What does "financial education" mean at Sundial House?
It means we read financial documents with you — not for you. A session involves sitting with your actual bank records, policy schedules, or household accounts and tracing what they say. The facilitator does not manage money, sell products, or give regulated financial advice.
Who are the programmes suited for?
Adults who feel their financial documents deserve a more careful read — whether they're recently earning, mid-career, or approaching retirement. No specialist knowledge is required to begin.
What do I need to bring to a session?
For the Cash-Flow Reading, one complete month of household transactions — statements, receipts, or a prepared list. For the Insurance Reading Programme, any policy documents you currently hold. For the Household Picture Engagement, a fuller set of documents is gathered over the first listening session.
Are sessions held in person or online?
Sessions are primarily held in person at our Petaling Jaya office. Remote sessions may be arranged on request — please mention this when you enquire.
Will anything I share be kept confidential?
All household financial information shared during sessions is treated with full discretion. Documents are not retained beyond the scope of the programme without explicit agreement.
How do I start, and how quickly can sessions be scheduled?
Send a brief note through the enquiry form or call the office. The facilitator typically responds within two working days to arrange a short introductory conversation before confirming the first session.
